North Central Indiana gives your business access to a workforce of more than 400,000, but numbers are only a small part of our big story. Our region has long placed an emphasis on education and training, to ensure that young people and veteran workers alike have the skills needed to move our economy forward. Add in Indiana’s strong business focus and right-to-work culture, and you’ll see why our residents are ready to go to work.

It starts with K-12 schools that are firmly focused on developing citizens who appreciate the importance of knowledge and hard work. Our high schools prepare students to take advantage of wide range of postsecondary education opportunities, including career-focused training through Ivy Tech Community College, which has facilities in five of our region’s counties and access to two vocational technical schools. That means your workers will be just minutes from the new skills you want them to have, including many with the Certified Production Technician designation. We can even develop customized training programs around your specific needs.

Beyond that, our partner counties also offer outstanding postsecondary degree and skills-focused programs through Indiana’s well-respected higher education community. You’ll find a strong presence from Purdue University, Trine University, Ivy Tech, Indiana Wesleyan, and Indiana University, which has a comprehensive campus in Kokomo. Families with college-age students will find dozens of excellent schools in the state, including the University of Notre Dame, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and Ball State University.
